
Xavier wraps up RRAC track & field athlete of the week awards for April 7-13
WACO, Texas – RRAC Track & Field Athletes of the Week were released today for April 7-13 with this week's honorees including Collin Wright of Xavier University (La.) (men's track), Damien Trahan of Xavier (men's field), Jade Harris of Xavier (women's track), and Kayla Gant of Xavier (women's field). This is the fourth set of awards for the 2025 RRAC outdoor track & field season.
Wright placed third in the 800-meter run at the Strawberry Relays hosted by Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, La. The freshman from Porter, Texas, posted a time of 1:58.91 in a field of 23 runners. Wright was also part of the Gold Rush's winning 4x800-meter relay team with a time of 9:55.12.
Trahan was the runner-up in the high jump at the Strawberry Relays. The fifth-year senior from Lake Charles, La., reached an NAIA A-qualifying height of 6 feet, 10 ¾ inches, which is the fourth best in the NAIA this season. Trahan also placed ninth in the long jump at 6.09 meters.
Harris achieved a runner-up finish in the 100-meter hurdles at the Strawberry Relays. The junior from Sugar Land, Texas, registered a personal best and an NAIA B-qualifying time of 14.22 seconds. Harris landed in third place in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:07.39.
Gant posted two third place finishes in the hammer throw and the shot put. The senior from Chicago set a career best in the hammer at 34.46 meters and reached 10.86 in the shot. Gant added a 12th place result in the javelin.
