RRAC COVID-19 Gameday Procedures 2021-22

COVID-19 GAMEDAY PROCEDURES

All Red River Athletic Conference member institutions should implement proper health and safety measures for its general campus operations that are consistent with campus policies and requirements of local and state governments.

  1. Member institutions should follow their state, local, and institution guidelines related to COVID-19.

  2. Member institutions should test their players 72 hours before departure for road games.

  3. Prior to competition, member institutions should communicate any COVID-19 related issues that may impact the contest. Any notice of potential inability to play the contest should be communicated immediately to the opposing institution and the conference office.

  4. Updated Athletic Training Room Policies
    a. Pre-competition taping and modality usage for traveling team

    1. A designated sanitized taping area should be provided for visiting team usage, separate from home team taping area when possible.

    2. All modalities must be prescribed by the traveling institution’s AT and instructions with name and treatment should be sent either by email or signed letter, the traveling institution is traveling without an AT.

    3. If taping and/or modalities are required prior to activity, a time must be scheduled for use of facilities with the understanding that will be based on availability of staffing and facilities.

      1. The home institution will communicate the designated time at least 48 hours prior to contest.

      2. The traveling institution will adhere to the home institution’s schedule or forfeit the opportunity for pre-contest treatments.

Game Management Standards

a. Locker room(s)

i. Locker room(s) should be made available upon request from visiting institution.

ii. Locker room(s) should be sanitized prior to visiting institution’s arrival.

iii. Post-game showers should be made available where possible prior to travel institution departure for immediate sanitation from athletic participation.

iv. Travel team must bring their own individual towels, soap, and hygiene products.

v. Locker room(s) should be sanitized after visiting institution’s departure.

b. Bench protocol

i. Social distancing in the bench area will be encouraged where possible.

c. Equipment

i. All equipment should be sanitized prior to and after competition is complete.

ii. Efforts should be made for the minimum amount of individuals to contact equipment as possible.

d. Fans in attendance

i. Follow local and state guidelines regarding large gatherings. ii. Consider venue specific social distancing measures.
