LSUA's Dunbar, Primrose recognized again with RRAC softball weekly awards

WACO, Texas – Kaetlyn Dunbar of LSU Alexandria (La.) earned selection as the RRAC Softball Player of the Week for March 24-30, while her teammate, Haley Primrose, picked up her third RRAC Pitcher of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the ninth set of weekly winners for the 2025 RRAC softball season.

Dunbar homered twice and drove in 11 runs in a 6-0 week for the Generals. The junior outfielder from Spring, Texas, did the most damage with six RBIs in a 9-4 series-opening victory over the University of Houston-Victoria (Texas). All six came in back-to-back innings with a three-run round-tripper in the second and a bases-clearing double in the third. Dunbar's output was the third most RBIs in a single game in LSUA history. She finished the week hitting 10-for-19 at the plate with 10 runs scored. Dunbar is second in the RRAC in batting average (.475) and RBIs (40) this season. LSUA remains unbeaten in conference play at 14-0 with a 30-2 mark overall.

Primrose earned two wins and a pair of saves in four appearances for the Generals last week. The senior right-hander from Jasper, Texas, pitched a complete game two-hitter with no earned runs allowed in a 5-1 victory over Xavier University (La.). Primrose also scattered six hits in a complete game start against UHV, and she made relief appearances against both Xavier and UHV. She finished the week with 17 strikeouts in 16 2/3 innings, allowing 11 hits and eight walks. Primrose leads the RRAC with 17 wins and 123 strikeouts.
