Xavier's Langa, OLLU's Bruno receive RRAC weekly tennis honors

WACO, Texas – Mbali Langa of Xavier University (La.) was selected as the RRAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for March 17-23, while Aymeric Bruno of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) earned the RRAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the fourth set of weekly winners for the 2025 RRAC tennis season.

Langa went 4-0 in both singles and doubles in a 3-1 week for the Gold Nuggets over four consecutive days. The fifth-year senior from Johannesburg, South Africa, led Xavier to a 4-0 victory over No. 20 Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) and she won at No. 2 singles and doubles in a loss to No. 19 SCAD Atlanta. Langa won, 6-1, 6-0, in singles against Hope International University (Calif.). The Gold Nuggest are ranked eighth in the NAIA with a 9-8 record.

Bruno helped guide the Saints to a 4-0 week against NAIA Top 25 competitors. The graduate student from Morigny-Champigny, France, claimed four victories at No. 3 singles, winning over Artur Ibragimov of No. 5 William Carey University (Miss.), 6-3, 6-4. Bruno also defeated Artur Yakubov of No. 8 Xavier University (La.), 6-4, 6-1, in a clash of the top teams in the RRAC. Bruno also teamed with Luis Hernandez to go 3-1 in doubles. OLLU is 15-1 and should move up from its No. 7 ranking nationally.
