
RRAC announces volleyball awards and all-conference team
WACO, Texas – This season's volleyball standouts were recognized on Thursday night with the announcement of the 2024 RRAC Volleyball All-Conference Team at the conference's pre-tournament banquet in San Antonio. Selections were determined through voting by the league's head coaches this week.
2024 RRAC Volleyball All-Conference Team
Texas A&M-Texarkana claimed its first RRAC regular season championship this season and piled up the hardware with a number of awards. Kaitlyn Cabral picked up two awards as the Attacker of the Year and the Newcomer of the Year, and Madeleine Halford was named RRAC Coach of the Year. Four Eagles earned first-team all-conference selections including Cabral, Paulina Dobreva, Mia Mata and Ja'Kerra Holt.
Conference runner-up Our Lady of the Lake finished a game behind TAMUT and matched their total with four first-teamers. Tina Trevino was on that list while being recognized with her third consecutive Defender of the Year honor. Mia Francis, Camila Ramirez and Lauren Reynard were also honored with first-team selections, and Raven Swain was selected as the Assistant Coach of the Year.
Our Lady of the Lake, which claimed the regular season title, also commanded its share of the first-team selections with six. The Saints' Lauren Reynard and Tina Trevino repeated as the winners of the RRAC Setter of the Year and RRAC Defender of the Year awards. Reynard led the conference in assists per set, and Trevino was the leader in digs per set. OLLU's Mia Francis picked up the Attacker of the Year honor.
Xavier received three top awards with Taylor Parker as the Most Valuable Player, Bengisu Kazazlar as the Setter of the Year, and Kamea Uitenham as the Freshman of the Year. All three earned spots on the all-conference first team.
Kiah Barron and Aaronyana Wilson represented Jarvis Christian on the first team, while Carrie Weston of Paul Quinn was also recognized.
Repeat first-team selections included Francis, Holt, Parker, Ramirez, Reynard, Trevino and Wilson.
