BIO:

Courtney Pruitt guided Wiley women's basketball to the greatest run of success in program history as the head coach from 2011-15. She was named RRAC Coach of the Year after both the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons, and she was a driving force behind the schools first two conference championships.

Under Pruitt's leadership, the Lady Wildcats posted a record of 101-24 over four seasons and captured six postseason victories in three NAIA national tournament appearances. Wiley was ranked in the NAIA's Top 25 poll 36 straight times. Pruitt coached three NAIA All-Americans, one RRAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year, one RRAC Defensive Player of the Year, one RRAC Freshman of the Year and nine all-conference players.

Pruitt led the Lady Wildcats to the NAIA semifinals in 2014 and RRAC championships in both 2012-13 and 2013-14. She guided Wiley to the 2013 RRAC women's basketball tournament championship and the school's highest ranking in program history at No. 6.

Pruitt promoted sportsmanship, ensuring her student-athletes graduated at a 90 percent rate, emphasizing the core values of the NAIA Champion of Character program, and overseeing teams that were active in community service. In 2014 she was the recipient of the NAACP Coach Clifford E. Stewart sportsmanship award, for her leadership in sports and education.

Pruitt left Wiley after the 2014-15 season to accept the head coach position at NCAA Division I program Alcorn State University (Miss.).

"Coach Pruitt is a phenomenal women's basketball coach," said Janet Eaton, former Wiley College athletic director. "During her time at Wiley, she made an immediate impact with the program in many different categories. The team's grade-point average was at an all-time high, and the student's community service efforts were reaching new heights. She developed leaders who were influential among their peers."
