Aaron Flores finished in the top three in the RRAC Men's Golf Championship during all four years (2010-13) at Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas). He captured the individual title as a freshman in 2010 with rounds of 70, 65 and 70 then earned runner-up in the next two tournaments before wrapping up in third placeas a senior. Flores was an RRAC All-Tournament recipient in each year of his career.
In 2010, Flores led the Saints to a seventh place finish at the NAIA Men's Golf National Champsionship, which is the second best finish for an OLLU team in history.
Flores was the first student-athlete from Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) to earn NAIA All-American First Team recognition. He is still the only OLLU student-athlete to make it to the finals of the NAIA Men's Golf National Championships as an individual, and he is the only golfer in school history to earn NAIA-Ping All-American Honors as well as All-Nicklaus Team Honors.
Flores received the inaugural OLLU Big Blue Top Saint award in 2013 as the school's best performer in athletics, community service and academics.
Flores received his Bachelor's Degree from OLLU in May 2014 then began working with golf manufacturer, Callaway, while competing as a golf professional.
Flores spent a substantial amount of time volunteering in the community as a representative of OLLU. He was a two-year volunteer participant in Patriot All-America Invitational. The event benefits the Folds of Honor Foundation and post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation. He also volunteered as assistant coach at Holy Cross High School guiding the team to a championship season.
"Aaron Flores was a superb example of an all-around student-athlete, one that promotes the NAIA Champions of Character program," says OLLU Athletic Director Shane Hurley. "He excelled in the classroom and the community, and he represented OLLU on the national platform every year he was at OLLU. He singlehandedly put OLLU Golf on the map and helped establish our program as one of the elite teams in the entire NAIA. We are certainly proud of all his accomplishments."
