RRAC volleyball players of the week announced for Oct. 6-12
WACO, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana teammates Paulina Dobreva and Ashley Rhame took home RRAC Attacker and Setter of the Week honors for the dates Oct. 6-12, while Michaela Clayton of Xavier University (La.) earned the RRAC Defender of the Week award for the same dates.
Attacker of the Week: Paulina Dobreva – Texas A&M-Texarkana
Dobreva recorded 49 kills and 54 digs as the Eagles made school history, winning against an NCAA Division II opponent for the first time. TAMUT defeated Lane College (Tenn.) and, for good measure also defeated a second D2 opponent Henderson State University (Ark.) en route to a 4-0 week. Dobreva leads the RRAC with 274 kills this year. The Eagles are 4-0 in conference play and 18-4 on the season.
Defender of the Week: Michaela Clayton – Xavier
Clayton had a historic week, recording a career-high 26 digs on the road versus William Carey University (Miss.). The redshirt freshman played with poise as she received 22 serves without an error. Clayton is fourth in the conference with 3.8 digs per set. The Gold Nuggets are 2-0 in the RRAC and 14-5 overall.
Setter of the Week: Ashley Rhame – Texas A&M-Texarkana
Rhame's play was crucial in the Eagles' performances last week. Rhame recorded 78 total assists as TAMUT went a perfect 4-0. She is third in the RRAC with 5.5 assists per set this season.

RRAC Notebook:
- Kennedy Campbell (XULA) was one shot shy of her career best in kills as she finished the WCU match with 1.
- Charity Metcalf (XULA) continued her strong senior season with a double-double versus WCU, recording 32 assists and 14 digs.
- Two unbeaten teams in conference play – A&M-Texarkana and Xavier – will square off on Friday and Saturday.
