Natt scored 36 points and now has two consecutive tournament MVP awards to go with two RRAC Player of the Year honors. Last year, he poured in 24 points to surpass USW in the title game. This time he rallied his troops when it seemed the Mustangs had taken control.

Leading 19-17, Southwest scored 11 straight points punctuated by a Rahkiem Petterson dunk for a 30-17 lead with 8:26 left in the first half. Over the next few minutes, USW extended the lead to 39-24.

With their backs to the wall, LSUA responded with a 17-2 stretch of its own to close the half. Natt started it with a layup and at one point followed his own three-point miss with a basket. E.J. McQuillan capped it with a three-pointer at the buzzer that tied the game at 41-41 at intermission.

LSUA's run continued with the first six points of the second half, making it a 23-2 run and a 47-41 lead. The Generals added to their advantage until Natt scored again to make it 57-44.

In a game of swings, it was USW's turn as they steadily closed the gap until Joshua Sasser drained a three-pointer to make it a 71-69 LSUA lead with 4:13 remaining. The Mustangs fought to stay in range down the stretch but a dunk by Natt at 1:13 and a layup by Kaleb Pouncy with 59.4 seconds remaining put the game out of reach.

Natt also had nine rebounds and nine assists, narrowly missing a triple-double. Jordan Decuir scored 17 points, followed by Pouncy with 16 and McQuillan with 11.

Petterson was the top scorer for USW with 18, while Jacob Koontz and Anthony Scott accounted for 13 points each.

USW, which was the No. 7 seed in the tournament, finished at 17-13. LSUA, ranked second nationally, improved to 28-2.
