Hill, Holzman earn RRAC men's hoops weekly honors to cap regular season

WACO, Texas – Tahjae Hill of LSU Shreveport (La.) earned recognition as the RRAC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for Feb. 17-23, while Cade Holzman of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas) was named the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week for the same dates. This is the 16th and final set of weekly awards for the 2024-25 men's basketball season.

Hill closed out the regular season with a game-high 27 points in the Pilots' upset of NAIA No. 1 LSU Alexandria (La.) on Thursday. The senior guard from Hilton, N.Y., was 8-of-10 from the field including a pair of three-pointers, and he was 9-of-9 on free throw attempts. Hill also contributed five rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot in the 101-96 victory. LSUS will be the No. 5 seed in the RRAC men's basketball tournament with a conference mark of 15-9 and an overall record of 18-10.

Holzman accounted for four steals and three blocked shots in a 2-0 week as the Rams clinched the final spot in the RRAC tournament. The junior forward from Austin, Texas, had three steals in a victory over Texas A&M University-Texarkana, and he helped limit Jarvis Christian University (Texas) to 46 points on Saturday. HT completed conference play at 10-14, and the Rams head into the postseason at 10-16 on the season.
