TAMUSA's Guerrero, Xavier's Zanolla close out regular season with RRAC men's soccer weekly awards

WACO, Texas – Christian Guerrero of Texas A&M University-San Antonio garnered recognition as the RRAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 28-Nov. 3, while Breno Zanolla of Xavier University (La.) received the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week award for the same dates. This is the 11^th set of conference winners for the 2024 men's soccer season.

Guerrero provided three goals and an assist in a 2-0 week for the Jaguars. The sophomore midfielder from San Antonio produced the first hat trick in school history en route to a 3-0 victory over the University of Houston-Victoria (Texas), and he assisted on a goal in a 3-1 win over Huston-Tillotson University (Texas). Guerrero is in the RRAC top 20 in goals (6), assists (5) and points (17). TAMUSA improved to 9-3-1 in conference play and 9-4-2 overall while earning the No. 4 seed in the RRAC tournament.

Zanolla recorded shutouts against the third- and fourth-place teams in the RRAC. The junior goalkeeper from Sao Paulo, Brazil earned his 12^th win and sixth shutout of the season with a 1-0 victory over Louisiana Christian. Zanolla also collected a 3-0 victory over LSU Alexandria, making four saves for the week. He has compiled 16 shutouts in two seasons with the Gold Rush. Zanolla leads the conference with a 0.85 goals against average. Xavier stands at 11-2 in the RRAC and 12-3-1 on the season while holding the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
