Xavier's Rubim, dos Santos earn RRAC men's soccer weekly awards

WACO, Texas – Artur Rubim of Xavier University (La.) earned recognition as the RRAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 21-27, while Xavier's Eduardo dos Santos was picked as the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week for the same dates. This is the 10th set of conference winners for the 2024 men's soccer season.

Rubim scored in both road victories for the Gold Rush last week. The sophomore forward from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, netted a pair of goals and assisted on another in a 3-1 win over the University of Houston-Victoria (Texas) on Thursday. Rubim also found the net for one of Xavier's goals en route to a 4-0 defeat of Huston-Tillotson University (Texas). He is sixth in the RRAC with six goals scored this season. The Gold Rush improved to 9-2 in conference play with a 10-3-1 mark overall.

Dos Santos led the back line for Xavier, limiting UHV and HT to one combined goal for the week. The junior defender from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, also produced a goal and an assist in the process.
