TAMUT's Dorsett, Magassa gather RRAC cross country runner of the week awards
WACO, Texas – Minankolo Magassa of Texas A&M University-Texarkana merited recognition as the RRAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 25-Oct. 1, while TAMUT's Charles Dorsett III was selected as the RRAC Men's Runner of the Week for the same dates. This is the fourth set of conference awards for the 2023 cross country season.
Magassa placed 10th in a field of 60 runners at the Nicholls State University (La.) Invitational. The junior from Nice, France, recorded a time of 20:11 in the 5K distance, and the Eagles landed in third place in the team results.
Dorsett finished as the individual runner-up and led the Eagles to the team title in the men's four-mile race at Nicholls State. The senior from Fort Worth, Texas, posted a time of 20:33 in a field of 70 runners.
