Both teams lost in the quarterfinal round of the 45th Annual UTR Sports NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship. The event is being held at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala., through May 16. It has been hosted there for 22 consecutive years (except for 2020, when it was canceled due to COVID-19).&#xD;

In addition to Xavier and LSU Alexandria, Louisiana Christian University and Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) represented the RRAC, but both were eliminated earlier in the week, concluding their seasons.</description>

With OLLU at 3-1 and OIT at 2-1, the stage was set for a dramatic &#x201c;if necessary&#x201d; game, where the Saints delivered a 5-3 win, punching their ticket to the 45th Annual NAIA Softball National Championship World Series.&#xD;

The Red River Athletic Conference sent three teams to the NAIA Opening Round this season: LSU Alexandria (3-2), OLLU (4-1), and Texas A&amp;M-Texarkana (1-2).</description>

All in all, the field includes 29 automatic qualifiers, including LSUA, the RRAC regular-season champion, and OLLU, the RRAC postseason champion. Nineteen other teams earned at-large berths, including TAMUT. The 48-team slate will take place across 10 campus sites in a double-elimination format, with the aim of qualifying for the 10-team World Series. The tournament consists of eight five-team brackets and two four-team brackets, with the winning teams advancing to the final site in Columbus, Ga., from May 21-27.</description>

A&amp;M-Victoria's Antonio Benitez is Newcomer of the Year and Beck Zimmerman is Freshman of the Year. Coach of the Year will be determined after the RRAC 2026 Baseball Championship. </description>
