TAMUT's Candelo, LSU-Shreveport's Liahagen-Kolnes named RRAC men's soccer players of the week
WACO, Texas – John Candelo of Texas A&M University-Texarkana was recognized as the RRAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Sept. 15-21, while Sondre Liahagen-Kolnes of LSU Shreveport earned RRAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the same dates.
RRAC Offensive Player of the Week - John Candelo, Texas A&M-Texarkana
The 17-year old junior midfielder from Houston sparked the Eagles' comeback by scoring two goals in a three-minute span. Both goals came in the final 10 minutes to force the tie between TAMUT and Paul Quinn in the final 10 minutes. The Eagles now sit with a 1-2-4 overall record heading into conference play.
RRAC Defensive Player of the Week - Sondre Liahagen-Kolnes, LSU Shreveport
Liahagen-Kolnes made one save in full time to help the Pilots shutout John Brown University (Ark.) in a 2-0 victory on Tuesday in a road victory. The consistent play from the junior goalkeeper guided LSUS to their second straight victory as they moved up to 14th in the NAIA Coaches poll.

- A&M-Victoria's Chris Mendez Picked up first career goal and it was a game-winner in the Jaguars' 1-0 win over Huston-Tillotson
