
TAMUT trio sweeps RRAC volleyball weekly awards for Aug. 25-31
WACO, Texas – There was more invitational tournament action for RRAC teams this week with Texas A&M-Texarkana and Xavier going 2-2 on the road at their events. TAMUT's losses came against ranked teams and its players swept this week's awards for the dates of Aug. 25-31.
RRAC Attacker of the Week – Kaitlyn Cabral, Texas A&M-Texarkana
Cabral set a new school mark for kills while leading the Eagles to a 2-2 mark in the Texas Two Step tournament in Fort Worth, Texas. The junior outside hitter from Redding, Calif., delivered 62 kills in the event with 3.9 per set as TAMUT lost to two ranked teams including a five-setter against No. 21 Nelson University (Texas). Cabral finished with a .283 hitting percentage.
RRAC Setter of the Week – Ashley Rhame, Texas A&M-Texarkana
Rhame posted 90 assists and 34 digs in the Texas Two Step event. The freshman setter from Whitehouse, Texas, averaged 5.6 assists and 2.1 digs for the week.
RRAC Defender of the Week – Paulina Dobreva, Texas A&M-Texarkana
Dobreva contributed 67 digs to go with 52 kills for the Eagles. The senior opposite hitter from Madrid, Spain, averaged 4.2 digs per set for the week.

RRAC notebook:
Xavier's Kennedy Campbell's 47 kills in the Big Easy Blastoff tied for the most in the tournament. Campbell also tied her career high with 18 kills in a four-set victory against Cumberland University (Tenn.).
