LSUA's Peracchi, LCU's Goff recognized as RRAC women's hoops players of the week
WACO, Texas – Benedetta Peracchi of LSU Alexandria (La.) was named the RRAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week for Jan. 20-26, while Princis Goff of Louisiana Christian University earned the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the 12th set of weekly awards for the 2024-25 women's basketball season.
Peracchi set a school record for field goal percentage by going 10-for-10 from the field in the Generals' 87-81 win over Louisiana Christian University on Thursday. The senior forward from Bergamo, Italy, scored 24 points while only missing one free throw. Peracchi also tacked on six rebounds and three steals. She is third in the conference with 8.6 rebounds per game. LSUA climbed to 12-4 in the RRAC standings and 15-5 overall.
Goff posted seven steals and 10 defensive rebounds as the Wildcats suffered a pair of losses last week. The junior forward from Atlanta, La., set a season-high with five steals against LSU Shreveport (La.) and she contributed 16.5 points per game. Goff leads the RRAC in scoring with 20.5 points per game this season. LCU slipped to 6-10 in conference play and 6-12 on the season.
