OLLU's Gonzalez, Curiel take home RRAC runner of the week awards

WACO, Texas – Joseph Gonzalez of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) was named the RRAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 9-15, while OLLU's Mia Curiel merited the RRAC Women's Runner of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the third award of the 2024 cross country season.

Gonzalez placed 20th in the University of the Incarnate Word (Texas) Invitational, which featured a field consisting mostly of NCAA Division I runners. The senior from Laredo, Texas, posted a time of 20:23 in the four-mile distance against 102 competitors. The Saints placed fifth out of nine teams in the meet.

Curiel clocked in at 19:52 in the women's 5K at the UIW meet. The junior from McAllen, Texas, placed 39th in a field of 80. OLLU's women's team finished in seventh place.
