Pilots' Reed, Rohde recognized with RRAC weekly baseball awards

WACO, Texas – Vantrel Reed of LSU Shreveport (La.) earned the RRAC Baseball Player of the Week award for Feb. 26-March 3, while his teammate, Isaac Rohde, garnered the RRAC Pitcher of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the sixth set of weekly winners for the 2024 RRAC baseball season.

Reed pounded out two doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs in the Pilots' three-game sweep of Texas A&M University-Texarkana. The junior infielder from Vicksburg, Miss., was 6-for-12 at the plate with five runs scored. He homered in both of the first two games and drove in five runs in the finale. Reed is tied for second in the conference with four homers and tied for third with 22 RBI. LSUS is now 8-1 in RRAC play and 16-2 overall.

Rohde threw seven scoreless innings in the Pilots' 11-5 victory on Friday. The junior lefty from Rice Lake, Wis., struck out six and allowed six hits and two walks in the start. Rohde leads the conference in strikeouts with 43.
