TAMUT's Magassa, Korir receive RRAC cross country runner of the week honors
WACO, Texas – Christopher Korir of Texas A&M University-Texarkana captured the RRAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award for Oct. 16-22, while TAMUT's Minankolo Magassa received the RRAC Women's Runner of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the seventh set of conference awards for the 2023 cross country season.
Korir placed eighth in the men's 8K distance at the Southwestern College (Kan.) Mid-States Classic on Saturday. The junior from Eldoret, Kenya, recorded a time of 26:43 in a field of 82 runners. The Eagles landed in third in the team results.
Magassa finished seventh in the women's 6K at the Mid-States event. Racing in a field of 73, she posted a time of 23:49.
